While the program has provided support, relief and empowerment to approximately 280 individuals so far (including some participants who were allowed to attend more than one week or event), hundreds more have inadvertently benefited as the positive experiences of the participants spread to their family members.
It has helped them cope with their grief and the feeling of loss; to shake off the shadow of the trauma; to build new relationships and draw strength from the feeling of belonging to a community. To many families the programs have also meant financial aid, in that they could enroll their children in activities they would not be able to otherwise afford.
